Stuck, puzzled, or something looks wrong? Write to nick@findabrainrot.com. A person reads it, usually within a day. Say which phone you use and what you were doing, and a screenshot helps.

If a message in the game ever worries you, report it from the conversation itself: the report goes to the people who run the game and the sender's messaging can be paused. For anything about a child's safety, write to the address above and put SAFETY in the subject.

Questions

The map says location is off, or that it couldn't get a fix.

Your position is used only while the Hunt tab is open, to show the brainrots around you, and it is not stored. On an iPhone: Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services, Find A Brainrot, then While Using the App, with Precise Location on. In a browser: allow location for app.findabrainrot.com when it asks; on a computer, also check that your browser is allowed to use location in the system settings. Then tap Try again.

A brainrot fainted. What now?

A brainrot that goes unfed, unwatered and unplayed for a day or so runs out of health, faints, and stops earning coins. It is not gone: open its room and revive it with a revive token. The Shop sells tokens for coins, and the price rises with each one you buy in a week, then settles back down. Coins come from playing. Nothing in the game costs real money.

How do kid profiles and the PIN work?

A grown-up (13 or older) makes the account. Under Settings, Kids, you add a profile with a name, an avatar and a 4-digit PIN that you choose. Kids never enter an email or a password. A kid's own phone joins with a one-time code from that kid's Settings page and unlocks with the PIN. Kids cannot be found by search, their friend requests wait for your yes, and they message with preset phrases and stickers; only you and your own kid can type to each other.

How do friends and trading work?

On the Friends page, share your friend code or type a friend's. Grown-ups can also look up another grown-up by username; kids are only ever found by code. When a kid asks for or accepts a friend, the grown-up approves it before anything leaves the house. Trading happens between friends: one proposes, both accept, and the swap happens at once. Coins can be part of a trade.

What does the AR view need?

The iPhone app on iOS 17 or later; any iPhone that runs iOS 17 has what the camera view needs. Allow the camera when the app asks. The web version has the map and the photo snap but not the AR view. The AR view opens on the safety rules, pauses while you are moving faster than a walk, and closes after ten minutes with a reminder to take a break. Camera frames never leave the phone and nothing is recorded.

How do I delete a kid profile or the whole account?

Settings, Kids deletes a kid profile. Settings, Account deletes the whole account. Either removes the players, their brainrots, coins, friendships, messages and linked phones right away; our backups roll off within a few weeks. The same Settings are in the app and on the web.
